What's the Difference between a Munch and Social
Written by Kat
You all heard karra report on what you might expect when you first attend a munch. Now you are probably wondering what the difference is between a munch and a social.
First let me tell you about the things that are the same. Both munches and socials are open to members and non-members. Both are dual purpose. They allow people interested in the group to come out and meet us, and it also gives the members a great excuse to get together for good food and good company!
Both munches and socials are held once a month, and both are held at locations outside of our private space.
Now - what are the differences? Whereas munches are held at a restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, socials are held at a bar on a Wednesday evening. (Usually the first Wednesday of the month.) Socials are held in the evening, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
At our current social location, Barnard Crossing on Dewey Avenue, we do not have a private room. So how will you know us? When you open the door to the bar, you will enter and be looking directly at a pool table. We are usually the motley crew sitting at the tables directly behind the pool table. Again we try to have an RKS hat or Tshirt visible, and we are on the lookout for newcomers.
Barnard Crossing has great food and very reasonably priced. The staff has been great to us! There is music available in an electronic jukebox, and the pool table also. There is a patio outside for smokers.
Socials are always a very low-key, relaxed evening hanging out with great company.
We hope you come out and join us soon! Check our calendar for the next social date!
Please email us at rks@RochesterKinkSociety.com or email karra if you have any questions!
